Cardarine (also known as GW 501516) is one of the most well-known, often used SARMs you can find in today’s marketplace. Bodybuilders and athletes alike have spent years experimenting with it to maximise their results from training.
The net result of this experimentation is that today we know exactly what it does and, more importantly for this article, we know the most efficient ways to structure dosing for maximal gains.
Today, I’ll be running through everything you need to know with regards dosing for Cardarine.
GW 501516 Dosage
Clinical trials of Cardarine have been conducted at conservative levels- doses of 2.5mg to 10mg daily for 12-week blocks. No Cardarine tests have been performed on human subjects. These figures come from animal studies.
However, using these animal studies, and anecdotal evidence from the many lifters who have used Cardarine over the years to supplement their training (including my own), we can get a good idea of the amount of Cardarine that is reasonable for fitness application.
Bodybuilders and athletes typically look to larger doses for often shorter durations than were used in the animal studies.
Effective daily doses tend to be in the 10-20mg range: most fitness enthusiasts who use Cardarine have seen great results from this window. Typical SARM stacks and solo Cardarine cycles will go from 6-8 weeks. They can sometimes go up to 10, and rarely as high as twelve.
My personal experience is that Cardarine works best on an 8-week cycle at 10mg per day for the first week, followed by 20mg per day thereafter.
Taken in these amounts, stacks putting Cardarine alongside various other SARMs can be very beneficial. For hypertrophy, 20mg of Cardarine per day stacked with similar amounts of Ostarine or Andarine turns into a very effective tool for your arsenal. Similarly, stacked in this way at this dosage with Ostarine, you can get a very efficient body recomp or even cut going, with the ability to gain muscle whilst dropping fat.
Please note: you may hear from some athletes that they have seen good, safe results on doses up to 30-40mg per day. No doubt, they will have seen good results on such large amounts. However, they will also be experienced lifters and Cardarine users. They will have run GW 501516 stacks several times before to work out what suits them best. For new users, I would always recommend staying within the 10-20mg daily boundary.
How to take Cardarine
Cardarine’s half-life is roughly 12-24 hours. Because of this, you will have to take it in two sittings throughout the day to maintain adequate levels. I’ve always run it with a dose in the morning and another in the evening. I find that this ensures levels are stable and that there is plenty in my system as my body repairs itself at night.
As I mentioned above, there are a few combinations and different ways you can take Cardarine. These include simply taking it on its own for a 6-10 week cycle. You can also go for a stack, using it in conjunction with other SARMs, dependent on your own personal goals.
GW 501516 also works well when dosed in conjunction with anabolic steroid use. Though I highly recommend you do not mess with anabolic steroids (I’ve always managed to make decent, natural gains- if I can, anyone can!) if you are indeed looking to use them, doses of Cardarine have decent application here. You can either combine it with your steroid cycle, going for an incredibly potent mass building phase whilst buffing up endurance. Alternatively, you can use Cardarine in conjunction with your post-cycle therapy (PCT), maintaining a gain whilst bringing your natural hormone levels back to equilibrium. In both these cases, 10mg daily for the duration of either your cycle or you PCT will be a good dosing start point.
You can buy and take Cardarine as a liquid, caplet, tablet or powder. The method by which you take it isn’t too important. Find one that suits you and is easy to manage and go with it. The most important thing will be to find a reputable provider who can prove their products are dosed as stated. Many companies will not, meaning that you will either be getting diluted, inadequate doses, or else extra, un-named ingredients mixed in with the main compound.
Cardarine doesn’t need a PCT. As mentioned above, it can even be used in conjunction with a PCT for some harsher fitness supplements. Though there is little known on the long-term side effects of Cardarine, it has no suppressive effect, meaning that your natural hormonal balance will be unaffected by it.
With regards Cardarine safety, I have always found it to be a very safe way of maintaining great results. Anecdotal, user evidence all points towards Cardarine as having no side effects whilst giving great athletic and muscular gains.
If you follow the dosing advice above, Cardarine will be incredibly safe.
